For whatever reason, eating downtown never occurs to me. I work late and just wanna be convenient to East Chase. Last night my wife got reservations at Central. I have found my current favorite dining spot. Kaylee was outstanding. The food backed up her great service, and we simply had a delightful (albeit expensive) evening. I cannot say enough great things about Central. So, ignore the prices when ordering, add a dessert, and don't look at the check when you're done! You'll be glad you splurged. It is worth every dime.

The finest meal I've had outside of New Orleans or New York City in the past decade. The lamb ribs appetizer made my nipples hard. A rare steak was cooked perfection, fish was grilled but remained moist and the cocktails were a delight. The scene was lively and we talked to a number of great characters. I highly recommend sitting at the bar as you can get to meet people coming up to get a drink. It was a planet of Truman Capotes, by that I mean funny and literate southerners.

We walked in for date night 3 minutes late for our reservation and the hostess was lovely and extremely friendly. As we were seated we were told the name of our server and in 5 min or less she came to our table and began a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, hot, and exactly as ordered. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the drink menu is great. Absolutely wonderful date night experience, I highly recommend.
